AAFM Complaint Procedures
To assist the public when filing a complaint against any AAFM designated professional please review the policies provided below.

When an AAFM professional has been awarded the use of any AAFM designation certification or charter, the member agrees to abide by the code of ethics and CE rules of the AAFM Handbook and to comply with all local/state/federal/ and provincial laws in which the professional has residence. If a wrongdoing or violation has happened and a substantiated complaint is issued against a certified member, the Global Board will investigate and determine if disciplinary action is needed. The AAFM ethics, terms and disclaimers are clear about abiding by rules and regulations of any governmental body.

Rational and Reasons For Discipline

Conduct by a member constitutes grounds for discipline if it violates rules, ethics or policies in the Handbook, Bylaws or Code of Ethics, or any violation of criminal laws in the region/country in which an AAFM certification holder works or resides, or any action that violates a professional license an AAFM member holds. All complaints will be reviewed by the AAFM Legal and compliance team.

Investigations

If a complaint is justified and a certified member has been found guilty of a crime or violation which has been determined by the AAFM Board or local/state/county laws in which the member resides or works, the board can immediately terminate any membership status or certification held by any member.

The AAFM Board acts to enforce its Code of Ethics, policies, and rules of the professional conduct that the public can expect to receive.

Upon the receipt of an official written complaint issued against any AAFM member, the Board will carefully review the information and determine if further investigation is required. Any AAFM member will be given the right to confront or defend any complaint.
